Marcoola Residence

Set on a unique battle axe block on the beach in Marcoola, this 2 storey home was designed to grow and adapt with the family. The home is sited on the block to optimise interior privacy and maximise the northeastern aspect and borrowed vistas from the main and outdoor living areas. The home is centered around a landscaped open-air courtyard with expansive glazing most notable from the ground level living zones. The rear facade is adorned with an operable screen inspired by the Indigenous artist Kurun Warun, renowned for his exceptional dot art. The interior palette is purposely unique, with surfaces such as walnut timber, bold veined Aquarzo quartzite, and green bathroom tiles, completing the spatial calm and sense of home.
